Devoted to Oblivion
Oblivion is the ruling government of the world of Adriel. A resistance, which calls itself “The Void,” fights against it, accusing Oblivion of being cruel and manipulative.
Oblivion claims to be the only way of preserving the world from those who would wish to destroy it or claim it as their own. After years of building up support and slowly working its way into society, Oblivion finally took control of the government. It was widely believed that Oblivion could live up to its promises.
But Kalannar knew the truth. The founders of Oblivion didn’t necessarily strive for world peace and protection. They wanted the world for themselves. They wanted everything under their control. Laws were put in place by the government stating that everyone was to submit to them. Those who resisted were labeled as Betrayers and either enslaved or killed. Oblivion told the Devoted, those loyal to Oblivion, that the Betrayers were obviously traitors or worse and had intentions of taking over the “free” world and therefore had to be controlled. Those with too much strength or those who were too strong-willed had to be “neutralized.” Citizens of Oblivion-controlled Adriel blindly obey their government.
